Itinerary Breakdown

Day 1: Bandaranaike International Airport → Negombo

Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, your adventure begins with a scenic drive to Negombo, a coastal town known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant local culture. Explore the town and enjoy its fresh seafood.

Overnight stay: Negombo

Start the day with a scenic drive to Sigiriya. En route, stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to witness rescued elephants, including baby elephants being fed. After checking in at your Sigiriya hotel, explore the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO-listed site with stunning panoramic views. Spend the evening unwinding at the hotel or opt for a cultural performance or village tour.

Overnight stay: Sigiriya

Start the day with a visit to the Dambulla Cave Temple, famous for its ancient Buddhist murals and statues. Then, embark on a drive to Kandy, stopping at a spice garden in Matale to learn about Sri Lanka’s aromatic spices. In Kandy, explore Kandy Lake, visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, and enjoy a mesmerizing Kandyan cultural dance performance in the evening.

Overnight stay: Kandy

After breakfast, stroll through the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, home to a vast collection of exotic plants and orchids. Then, enjoy a scenic drive back to Colombo. If time permits, take a quick city tour of Colombo’s landmarks before heading to the airport for your departure.

Inclusions

  • Accommodation from 3 to 5-star hotels; Star category can change upon request. (The standard check-in time at all hotels is 2:00 PM, and check-out time is 11:00 AM.)
  • Breakfast included at the hotels; Other meals can be added upon request.
  • Transportation by air–conditioned vehicle throughout the tour.
  • Service provided by an “English speaking chauffeur guide” throughout the tour.
  • Airport transfers to and from Bandaranaike International Airport.
  • Cost of driver and vehicle.
  • All toll and parking fees.
  • All applicable government taxes and service charges during the tour.

Exclusions

  • Airfare to and from Sri Lanka is not included.
  • Travel Insurance and Visa fees and arrangements are not included and should be obtained by the traveler prior to arrival in Sri Lanka.
